Product announcement 

Security technology has evolved toward centralized and integrated access control solutions that offer more options and longevity for security and access control. A key benefit is that these solutions can be migrated, adapted, or scaled up when the need arises. 

We have observed the demand for “lockdown only” solutions such as BEST SHELTER replaced with the demand for centralized and integrated access control solutions which include lockdown functionality.

As a result, we have decided to discontinue the manufacture and sale of the BEST SHELTER solution and its components as of July 1, 2023, and focus future efforts on our integrated access control with lockdown product portfolio.

How will this impact existing SHELTER Users: 

All existing localized systems will continue to function for the life of the product: 

• Fob lockdown 
• Gateways and Repeaters 
• Locks 
• Management of system via gateway user interface 
• Basic mechanical lock functionality  
• Lockdown features

 Cloud user interface and supported features (such as the automated email and text notifications) will continue to operate until July 1, 2027, and then become obsolete. 

To preserve your SHELTER optimal functionality, the Cloud user interface must be migrated to a local or gateway user interface sometime prior to July 2027.
